My association with Wikitolearn!

Hey folks! Recently, I have been contributing to an open source organization, called WikiToLearn. WikiToLearn, which you can find at, is an open-source project whose aim is to provide and share collaborative and free text books. Every user could join the site and start writing or editing pages, in order to improve the quality of the contents. There is also the possibility of grouping different pages together creating a book, which is free downloadable in PDF format, so you can have it on your device, also offline. The project is young, in different senses: it was born recently and it is the result of some young university students’ works and idea. The motto is “Knowledge only grows if shared". The idea was so cool, that as soon as I came knew it, I wanted to contribute to WikiToLearn. If you have questions regarding, what is WikiToLearn about, have a look at .

My role in WikiToLearn :

The project is a part of KDE, while the backend of it mostly based on Mediawiki. As I have already contributed to Mediawiki, I was searching for a project for Google Summer Of Code, 2016. One of my mentors in FOSS@Amrita Club, Harish Bhaiya, asked me to go through the projects listed in KDE, as he, himself is a KDE contributor. I was really fascinated by the idea of WikiToLearn, and started working on the idea of making visual editor offline. While doing that, I came across the mentor of the project, Gianluca Rigoletti, one of the coolest guys, I have ever known of. He's really helpful. So, yeah, I started contributing to the project by editing pages and reporting bugs. In the meanwhile, I was working on my GSoC project as well. You can find my proposal here. Overall, it was real amazing to contribute to such an amazing organization and will continue to do that.
